NIH to adopt strict new limits on using chimpanzees in medical research, saying most unneeded – The Washington Post

This is way overdue – the horrors of research on captive chimpanzees is unconscionable, and the research outcomes unreliable at best, and dangerous at worst. These wonderful, sentient creatures have suffered more than enough.
Follow Europe’s example, and release them to sanctuaries to live out the remainder of their lives in comfort with each other.
